It’s time to rethink Coaching

I train coaches to think differently, sense deeper, and listen beyond words, using LEGO® Serious Play®.

Coaching relies on conversation. But some of what your client knows, they can't yet say. LEGO® Serious Play® makes it visible.

Coaching has a thinking problem…

We’ve over-relied on conversation in coaching. It’s time to think differently (with your hands).

Is coaching in 3D the future ?

Externalisation

The model creates distance between the person and their experience, so they can look at what could previously only be felt.

Embodied cognition

Building is thinking. The hands access what language alone can't reach.

Third-Point Communication

The conversation flows through the model, not between people. Defences drop.

Perspective shifting

A physical model can be rotated, repositioned, and seen from angles that a conversation never offers.

  • What stood out was how effectively it can help externalise complex thinking, enabling greater clarity on issues that are often difficult to articulate or resolve through discussion alone. It can enable conversations to move from abstract reflection to something more tangible, structured, and actionable — particularly valuable when navigating complexity, tension, or competing priorities.

  • The 'LEGO Serious Play' coaching training program she led was very fun and informative. She delivered her message clearly and demonstrated excellence in maintaining focus even in an online setting. I would like to participate in any training sessions she organizes in the future.

Training Flow

How long is the training programme?

1

This is a one day immersive training experience, but delivered over two half-days. We usually schedule training from 12pm- 4pm (UK timezone), over two consecutive days. We design it with plenty of breaks to accommodate those from other timezones.

How is the training delivered?

2

The English version of training, from Lead Associate Vics Bradley, is delivered online via Zoom. We use Zoom for the core training, and breakout rooms for the peer to peer coaching experiences.

Do I need to be a coach to attend?

3

This training has been designed specifically for those who intend on using LEGO® Serious Play® in 1:1 coaching. You must be either a qualified coach or a practicing coach with experience. We appreciate that not every coach in the industry goes down the path of credentialing. As long as you can confidently coach others, you can attend.

Do I get a certification?

4

Yes, on successful completion of the programme you can refer to yourself as a Certified Facilitator of LEGO® Serious Play® Coaching, from SERIOUSWORK, the gold-standard global trainer in LEGO® Serious Play®.

About

Master coach. Coach trainer. Author.

Vics is known for her work integrating LEGO® Serious Play® into professional coaching practice. Her approach challenges the traditional reliance on conversation in coaching, introducing more embodied, visual, and cognitive ways of working with clients.

Through her training and methodology, she helps coaches externalise their clients' thinking, work with metaphor, and access deeper levels of insight and change. Her coaching operates at mastery level, grounded in presence, emergence, and deep listening rather than frameworks alone.

Vics holds ICF PCC accreditation and is trained to ICF Level 3 (Coach Mastery). She is a Lead Associate and coach trainer with SERIOUSWORK, the global leader in LEGO® Serious Play® training, and serves as a business advisor at university level.

Alongside her coaching work, she has spent over two decades building and advising businesses, bringing a strong commercial lens to everything she does. This allows her to bridge the gap between deep coaching and real-world application, helping clients not only think better, but act more effectively.

Her upcoming book, A Coach's Guide to LEGO® Serious Play®, is the first to position the method as a legitimate coaching modality and map it against ICF professional standards. It draws on real case studies from practising coaches around the world and covers individual, group, team, and programme-based coaching.

Frequently Asked Questions

Some of the most commonly asked questions. Visit the FAQs page for the full list.

  • Think of it as giving your client a second language. Instead of only talking about what they're experiencing, they build it. The bricks become metaphors. A wall might represent a boundary. A figure placed at a distance might surface something about trust. The coach doesn't interpret the model. The client does. Every brick holds the meaning the builder gives it, and that's where the depth lives.

I use LEGO® Serious Play® as one tool within my coaching practice. It sits alongside everything else in my toolkit: deep listening, powerful questioning, presence. The bricks don't replace coaching. They enhance it.

  • This distinction matters more than most people realise. LEGO® Serious Play® was born as a facilitation method for strategy and team alignment. It's brilliant at that.

But coaching is a different discipline. We don't plan build questions in advance. We don't drive toward a predetermined output. We partner with the client in real time, and the bricks arrive when they're needed, not because they're next on the agenda.

A facilitator owns the structure. A coach holds the space. That changes everything about how the method is used.

  • Facilitator training teaches you to run workshops. Coaching training teaches you to hold the bricks within a coaching conversation, which requires a different set of skills entirely. You need to know when to invite the client to build, when to stay with words, and how to ask questions about a model without interpreting it for the client.

I'm Lead Associate and coach trainer with SERIOUSWORK, the global leader in LEGO® Serious Play® training. If you're a coach who wants to learn this properly, there's a training programme for that.
